When to compare pallet shipping with parcel
One case pack may fit parcel shipping. As you add cases, a pallet shipment may become a practical alternative. There is no single case count that makes LTL cheaper for every order: packed size, weight, destination and delivery services all affect the comparison.
Carriers, brokers and rate shopping
A carrier transports the freight. A broker or shipping platform helps source transportation and compare available services. The provider returning a quote and the carrier named on that quote may be different companies.
Great Buy’s LTL quoting supports Coyote/RXO, Schneider FreightPower and Priority1. The eligible providers and returned carriers depend on the shipment and available service. Review the actual carrier, price and service on your quote; a logo is not a promise that a specific carrier will serve every order. Available priced options are sorted by cost so you can compare them.
Tell us how your location receives pallets
- Dock or unloading equipment: if you cannot unload a trailer, you may need a liftgate.
- Address type: residential and limited-access locations can require additional services.
- Delivery appointment: tell us if your receiving team needs an appointment.
- Inside delivery: ask about this separately; a liftgate lowers freight to ground level and does not mean it will be moved inside.
Extra services can carry accessorial charges. Use complete delivery information and check what the quote includes. Estimated transit time is not a guaranteed arrival date.
Plan your order and receiving day
Compare merchandise plus freight across the total units you are buying. Keep the shipment paperwork and have someone ready to check pallet counts and visible condition on arrival.
